We are seeking a client-facing Project Manager to take on strategy, branding, design, and video projects. Our Project Managers are integral as they lead our internal team and develop strong relationships with our clients to ensure we create beautiful, engaging, and impactful work for great brands and have good times doing it.

Responsibilities include

  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact for our clients and ensure we’re achieving their business / campaign goals and best service their needs.
  • Lead our internal team through the creative development process – owning communication between all departments, providing support, allocating resources, and assigning tasks.
  • Communicate project status to our internal team and clients, setting and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to build and effectively track project workback schedules to hit project milestones and delivery dates, considering dependencies, assessing risks, and proactively implementing solutions as project needs evolve.
  • Partner with Managing Director to write and negotiate contracts, scopes of work, and estimate project budgets.
  • Manage the project budget to ensure we’re delivering within scope.

Requirements or Equivalent Experience

  • 4-6 years of project management and/or creative production experience, preferably in an agency environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience managing creative and video production processes.
  • Strong work ethic with the confidence to lead and work independently.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients, projects and deliverables at a given time with keen attention to detail while being comfortable working under pressure.
  • Proficiency with project management and team collaboration tools (Basecamp, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Zoom).

Production Designer

We are seeking a Production Designer to support brand design in our studio. The Production Designer collaborates closely with creative directors, designers and project managers to bring all projects over the finish line.

Responsibilities include

  • Prepares final press-ready files based on specifications
  • Creates presentation decks
  • Makes various formats of supplied artwork production-ready and resolves any artwork issues that arise during production
  • Provides image retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation
  • Packages and pre-flights files for release to printers or media partners
  • Creates PDF’s for print and client review
  • Prepares images for online and mobile applications
  • Catalogs and references art for future projects
  • Follows a timeline to be sure tasks are completed in a timely manner

  • 1-3 years of production experience

Assistant Editor / Media Tech

We’re seeking a technically-minded assistant video editor with a passion for short form content and post production. Every day will be different in this fast-paced and varied position. You will scratch your creative itch by supporting creative directors and editors to make kick ass spots and content. You’ll also stretch your technical muscles by keeping projects running smoothly, supporting the post team and creating deliverables. An organized, detail-oriented mind is a must. This position will work closely on our athletic clients so you should love sport and be an active, engaged thinker.

Responsibilities include

  • Learning the systems and processes of Sockeye’s in house post production pipeline. Train freelance editors and assistant editors on these processes, the workflow, nomenclature, project folder maintenance, etc.
  • Pulling found footage based on a brief and the needs of the editor. This is a large part of the job so research skills and experience with found footage is necessary.
  • Working closely with editors and creative directors to plan edits, organize content and create string outs.
  • Owning the video delivery process – work with the edit and production team to version videos in multiple formats, create deliverable files to spec and provide final deliverable links.
  • Transfer and transcode (when necessary) production footage.
  • Sourcing music and VO talent based on a brief.
  • Assisting in creating and updating footage/license tracking sheets as needed for found footage projects.
  • Work with our Systems Administrator to manage all media and tech support for the post production team. Assist with opening and closing projects, including the archiving process.
  • Familiarizing yourself with archival footage Sockeye holds for our various clients, enabling you to find and pull footage quickly when needed.

Core Competencies

  • 1-2 years of professional experience as an assistant editor
  • Mac OS system savvy
  • Versed in Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Premiere and After Effects
  • Exceptional organizational skills and precise attention to detail
  • Technical ability to steer post process from concept to delivery
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and on your own
  • A thorough understanding of the post-production process
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
